➲ Resources

  • Certification Scenarios for 2025-26 SY

  • Active Ed-Fi URLs

Log into Ed-Fi Credential Application (UAT) and you’ll land on the Profile menu. This screen is broken into three sections: Current User, Ed-Fi URLs and Ed-Fi Credential Users. Out of the full user list, a select number of these technical vendor users have access to the Ed-Fi Credential application to manage data submissions on the district/school’s behalf.

  • Current User - This is the Name, Email and Vendor of the person logged into the application.

  • Ed-Fi URLs - The Profile screen includes the Ed-Fi URL's that vendors use to access the ODS / API. Three URLs are listed:

    • Authentication is used for retrieving a session token

    • Base is the path to the Ed-Fi ODS API

    • Swagger is the Open API (Swagger) base

The Ed-Fi API is a service secured via OAuth 2. An OAuth key and secret (per district/school) are needed to make REST calls. The Ed-Fi Credential application is the source for key/secret for all districts/schools that subscribe to technology vendors. When a school/district subscribes or modifies a vendor subscription an email is sent to the primary vendor contact(s).

  • Ed-Fi Credential Users - Contains a list of vendor users, with their emails and email domains. These users receive system generated emails.

Sandbox (UAT) Access

Your sandbox (UAT) environment is managed using the Ed-Fi Credential Application (UAT) accessed from WISEhome (UAT). This application provides a method for DPI to authorize the transmission of data and for vendors to find URLS for active school years, credentials, reset secrets, and more.

If you have previously tested in the Sandbox (UAT), you’ve got access to the Ed-Fi Credentials application (UAT) using your WAMS credentials when logging into WISEhome (UAT).

Don’t have access? Follow the instructions on the Obtain Authentication Credentials page.

Before you can begin testing, you’ll need Local Education Agencies for this purpose. The Ed-Fi API is secured via OAuth 2.0, and DPI will generate OAuth credentials (keys and secrets) upon request. These credentials are necessary for making REST calls.

New credentials are required annually. Submit a Vendor Access and Inquiry form for education agencies or test data (for specialized vendors not creating enrollment, roster, discipline records).

Newly created agencies start with no data. Vendors must submit student data to the API at least 24 hrs prior to testing.

Log into the Ed-Fi Credential Application (UAT) via WISEhome (UAT) with your WAMS Username (UAT) and password to find your credentials, education agency ID, school IDs and interactive reports.

Viewing data can be managed via your software or Swagger (See New User Setup: Accounts and Tools or Development Resources for more information).

Access to the Ed-Fi Credential Application requires a different WAMS account log in and application web address based on environment. For more information see Sandbox (UAT) and Production Environments.
