REF ID 456 - Pupil Count Report for Membership (Continued pilot in 24/25 SY)

Collaborate on support activities and enhance the Pupil Count Module in WiSFiP throughout the 2024-2025 SY, paving the way for the commencement of the dual reporting year in the 2025-2026 SY.

This project sets the groundwork for a smoother transition into the dual reporting year in the 2025-2026 SY, ensuring improved functionality and accuracy in pupil count reporting.

REF ID 456 - Pupil Count - Daily Attendance Data Collection

Introduce the collection of daily negative attendance data, utilizing endpoints such as /calendars, /calendarDates, and /studentSchoolAttendanceEvents, as an optional data collection for the 24/25 school year.

Incorporating this supplementary data proves beneficial as it enhances our ability to perform additional data checks. This, in turn, allows for the issuance of warnings in the WISEdata Portal when there are uncertainties or discrepancies in meeting membership attendance requirements.

REF ID 722 - Program Area Type Designation on Courses

Assign Program Area Types (a.k.a CTE Departments) to courses, and to collect the the Program Area Type on /sections. This aims to enhance the LEA's data accuracy regarding the presence of the 6 CTE Departments in the school. Furthermore, it directly correlates with monitoring the number of students participating in CTE, categorized by specific CTE Departments.

Allow DPI to correctly map CTE SCED courses to the correct Program Area Types (a.k.a CTE Departments).

REF ID 721 - Program Type and Program Name Changes

Currently, there are 2 program type options for Work-Based Learning (WBL) reporting: Certified and Non-Certified. Since the Certificated Program Status Type is not mandatory for WBL programs, all WBL instances will be considered as non-certified.

The ProgramTypeDescriptor for CTE reporting will undergo modification to include IRC, WBL, and Dual. Additionally, there will be some reorganization of Program Names.

Eliminate confusion and additional time for school staff to understand and enter certified WBL data.

REF ID 677 - Parent/Guardian Data Collection Expansion for Summer EBT

Broaden the parent/guardian data collection (/studentParentAssociation) to incorporate additional details such as legal guardian information, living arrangements, and primary contact status.

By broadening the parent/guardian data collection, we aim to share valuable information with the WI DHS. This collaborative effort will facilitate the distribution of Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (S-EBT) cards to families, ensuring a more targeted and efficient outreach strategy based on the enhanced data insights.

REF ID 741 - Remove K3 from Database Grade Levels

Removal of the K3 grade level option, preventing schools from selecting this option in the School Directory and reporting it to the WISEdata Portal.

To align with state statute definitions, as K3 is not officially recognized as a grade level. Removing K3 will eliminate confusion and enhance data accuracy in the School Directory and WISEdata Portal.

REF ID 749 - Rigor Level Removal (25-26 SY)

Eliminate the “Rigor Level” attribute from the course list. The DPI will communicate changes and run validations throughout the 2023-2024 school year. However, the actual removal of rigor levels will be implemented in the 2025-2026 SY, allowing LEAs more time to prepare for this change.

By eliminating the Rigor Level attribute from the course list, we are streamlining the user experience for LEAs. The resulting shorter and more navigable course list enhances efficiency and user-friendliness.
Additionally, the removal of the rigor level, which is currently not utilized for any reporting purposes, signifies a simplification of the system without compromising data integrity.

Timely Initial Evaluations (Indicator 11) in WISEdata (Regression test. Carry over from 22/23 SY)

After a parent gives consent for their child to be evaluated for Special Education eligibility, LEAs are required by law to perform that evaluation within 60 calendar days. Failure to perform the evaluation within 60 days is an instance of noncompliance, which is important for monitoring and for the Special Education team's APR reporting.

This project will help record the date of parental consent and the date of the evaluation for special education eligibility in WISEdata Portal and WISEdash for Districts.

To improve the collection, quality, and use of our data about how students are receiving timely evaluation for special education eligibility, which is their right in federal law.
